Dang.

First of all, surprised THIS girl last weekend in DC.

I am honestly glad there seems to be no quota of fun that each person is allowed because I would have SURELY filled mine last weekend. Which would have made for a sad birthday weekend! My birthday/birthday weekend has been WUNDERBAR! I just love being with friends and family and am looking forward to seeing even more of my family tonight.

Got a feeling 26 is going to be very good for me. If for no other reason I will finally be MAKING MONEY in the field I love! WOO!

First, KELLYKINS came home yesterday and I could not be more overjoyed! I love that girl so dearly and have missed her immensely for the last 2.5 years.

Secondly we had a GREAT and EXTREMELY successfull PKD Walk for a Cure today. It always amazes me that so many people come together and work for a YEAR for 4 hours on one day. It totally paid off though, everyone did an amazing job.

With that I’m off to study for my Peds exam Monday. What joy.

Don’t shake your computer in amazement at the appearance of a second post within 2 days, please. It’s for real.

I just wanted to say, I think I’m REALLY going to like my pediatrics rotation. We went to Children’s Mercy today to take a tour and OMG people, I WANT TO LIVE THERE. That sounds so sacriligious I know, but I think that response is what the creators/builders/artists were going for so I stand behind it. Honestly it’s amazing! I felt like I had entered kid-land. I struggle with acting so enthused about it because I know it’s a place where a lot of suffering has occured for many children but I also know it’s been a place of much joy and healing for many others. There is a certain atmosphere, everyone seems friendly and cheery, which I, of course, love. I swear, if the staff breaks out into choreographed dances while singing songs from musicals I will first cry with delight then secretly move in. It’s the kind of place where you believe things like that could actually happen, miracles! You know, like a nice, young single nurse bumping into an attractive young resident who falls head over heels for her. THAT kind of miracle. There really is something special about places designed to enchant and inspire children and their imaginations, like Disney World. Don’t you agree?

Good night, I hope you dream that you are a child who believes ANYTHING is possible.
