Tomorrow is my first day in full-time nanny mode! Xanga hasn’t been working lately so I’m gonna make this short! Today we went to a lake that is about 15 minutes away and it’s officially my new FAVORITE place, if you’re lucky I will take you there!
LOVE!
I am here, mostly moved in and extremely tired. This is gonna be interesting. Nap time!

My dad found the remote, my dad found the remote, yayayayay! Just in time too! Woohoo! Needless to say, he will have a lot of downtime on my megayacht. My megayacht needs a name, I can’t just keep saying “my megayacht” all the time. I would name it Squitchey but that name is already taken by my lovely Macbook Pro (which now has its remote)! For those of you who don’t know, Squitchey was the name of a street we passed almost everyday when we were in Oxford. It was too fun to just forget, and since my iMac (luxo) and my iPod (luxo jr.) are both named (and don’t you pretend like you don’t name your computers/electronics!) I thought Squitchey was a wonderful name for a laptop. Maybe I’ll call the megayacht “Muffy”…that’s what my dad calls me, and since he found the remote I should attribute something megayacht-like to him or his idea. I’m open to suggestions though.
LOVE!
Demo: thanks for the offer, it was extremely kind of you! I hope you learn from my mistake and always hold your macbook pro remote near and dear!
edit: apparently my praise for my brother (for driving me to DC) was not up to par…my bad. I cannot believe how incredibly generous and thoughtful my brother and his girlfriend are. I mean, I knew they loved me and I them, but this is beyond words…really it’s right up there with donating a vital organ. I may have to give them my firstborn child for this favor. Hopefully this will suffice…we shall see.
Last night I dreamt that I overslept on “moving day” (which is ridiculous because we’re not leaving til 5 pm ish). I had to hurriedly pack my things, which didn’t consist of much because apparently I was going to DC with Alex and Kaitlyn to camp?!? I think all my memories of Europe combined with the knowledge that I’m moving to DC soon and not nearly as close to being packed as I should be, thus resulting in a panicky-travel dream. Despite this dream, I had a very productive day (two of them in one week, crazy I know!). I started my Roth IRA…well not so much start as got info and prepared myself to start. Oh and I am excited about this my friends. I mean, any addition to one’s portfolio is a thrilling matter, but I’m thinking this Roth IRA may one day lead to….you guessed it…a megayacht (see august 18 entry)!!! I promise that if you are nice to me in 40 years and I have a megayacht, that you can come visit it. I also have packed a couple boxes, so that’s good! I have conquered my belongings from the basement, tomorrow I tackle my own room, which is a very, very scary thing! Please pray that I find the remote to my Macbook Pro…if you do, I will let you stay on my megayacht! Okay all the dust from the basement has made me delusional.
LOVE!
You cannot even begin to describe how relieved and efficient I feel today. I got a lot accomplished, which is good because I am moving in 4 days. I got health insurance (yay) and a bridesmaid dress (very good) and snackies for the road trip to DC with my bro and his gf. I mailed a thank you package to my friends in Oxford, Great Britain. I signed up for a new credit card, so I can cancel the one that kicked me in the butt while I was in Europe. I got a new password for my checking account because I need to know what’s going on there…only to find out, I have WAY more money than I thought I did…I don’t know how this happened, but I’m not complaining. I also got an appointment to dye my hair tomorrow (VERY good). Now I need to pack like a mad person! WHEW!
LOVE!
ps. I really like Brothers Karamozov, so far…Dostoyevsky writes with a little sarcasm, I like it!
so here’s the plan: Friday afternoon, Alex, Kaitlyn and myself will be heading out to DC. This is good because I’ve wanted to take a road trip since Kaitlyn and Alex drove to Sanibel for spring break and had such a good time. This is crazy because it means they will have to leave pretty early Sunday morning to get back before their classes on Monday morning. But I am extremely grateful to them both for offering to move me out there. Between now and Friday afternoon I have a zillion (seriously I counted) things to accomplish, which is quite overwhelming.
Secondly, I miss college. Never thought I’d say it, but there it is, the honest truth. Okay, not so much the classes, but all the excitement; classes beginning, seeing all my friends, checking out the new hott guys (not gonna lie), reveling in the experience that is chapel worship (esp. sunday night), etc. Anyway, I’ll visit in October (as an alumnus) and get to have all that minus the classes..ha.
That is all for now, I think! I hope you all have wonderful weeks!
LOVE!
ps i’m starting this book tonight and I’m so excited. I really enjoy Tolstoy’s works, which leads me to believe I will like Dostoyevsky as well…we shall see. I know, I have an addiction to Russion literature and I’m the biggest nerd that ever lived…whatev.
pss I’m trying to give up tv…i was extremely convicted at church this morning.
I need to write a whole entry that is on a “lighter note”, as they say. I’m kinda stressed, and this should help. I’m excited because Matt Wertz is coming out with a new album in September.
I’m sad that he has a song on the soundtrack of “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” because this means he’ll be getting famous and my chances of making him fall in love with me are dwindling by the second. Oh well, from what I hear, there are plenty of young, handsome, and godly men in DC..wahoo!
I’m sad that I’ve seemed to misplace the remote to my new Macbook Pro, that was a REALLY cool feature!
I’m glad I have a mom that buys out the commissary’s entire stock of ice cream bars (for those of you who shop there, yes, that is where they all went!)
I made an appointment for next week to begin a Roth IRA, which makes me feel a) very adult-ish and b) somewhat secure. What else am I gonna spend my money on? Might as well start a little something and maybe I’ll have a big something when I’m 60..woohoo.
Last night I watched this show on the Travel Channel about MegaYachts, and I like them…a lot. So if you are a rich person with a megayacht that will need a nanny next summer…call me! Or maybe I can buy one when I’m 60 and my Roth IRA is worth bagillions!
LOVE!
OH I ALMOST FORGOT..I SAW GEORGE BRETT YESTERDAY AT KUMED!!! THIS IS THE YEAR OF MANDY SEEING FAMOUS PEOPLE; FIRST DICK CHENEY AND NOW GEORGE! of course George and I go back a while..we’ve actually met, that’s right there was shaking of hands and exchanging of names. Maybe he has a megayacht, hmm….
God is so good to me! My mom is gonna get out of the hospital today. I’ve had a lot on my mind for the last week, and God keeps coming through for me. I am so thankful!
LOVE!
