So I’ve been working the past two days.  My “hometown” salon needed a receptionist and since my hairstylist knew I did that for VIP in Siloam, she called me up.  It was actually nice to have something to do…and I really like the girls there too.  They have a good atmosphere at that place.  Hopefully I will get a lot of hours the week I’m in Siloam before classes start.  I’m in serious need of some cash AND I need to schedule an appointment to re-highlight my hair!

I’m actually really excited and ready for school to start.  I’m gonna miss reading for leisure and hanging out with Alex and the LAKE!  But I’m so ready to be in our apartment and see everybody again.  Yay for senior year.

Oh another totally random nothing, I got pink chinos at j.crew for like $24, that makes me happy!

How old am I???  I’m watching the season 2 premiere of Laguna Beach.  At most I AM 17 at heart…SERIOUSLY!!  oh well.

OH my gosh, I’ve seen Kelly everyday since like Wednesday.  It’s so nice to have someone who wants to hang out with you who isn’t related to you!  It reminds me that i WOULD have a life if there were more people around for me to hang out with.

Saturday night I went to the Lansing Alumni dinner…actually i was DRAGGED…there were about 200 people there…5 of which were under the age of 50!!!  Sunday night went out for a “drink” with Kelly and Joey = WEIRD.  It’s weird to go out with people and we are able to get drinks…I refrained though..go self-discipline GO!  Today I went out to lunch with Kelly and Jessica, it was so good to catch up with those girls.

Laguna Beach…drama, drama, drama…I fill my drama quota by watching tv..mostly reality tv.  Therefore I do not feel the need to have drama in my life, because I get it from tv!  It’s the perfect system I tell you.

Shout-out to my brother, because he put my on his Hollywood Video account today!  I’ve been thinking about our relationship a lot lately, because we haven’t gotten into ANY fights this summer.  Usually we have the oh-so-witty -and-original-while-still-incredibly-mature “you’re a butthead”, “no YOU’RE a butthead” banter…but not this year.  I think it’s because we are the same person (only in slightly different form) so he knows why and when I’m peeved at him and then adjusts accordingly so that it’s REALLY hard to stay mad at him.  I’m loving this system also!  Oh and I avoid making him mad too…so it’s a two-way street!

Sorry for the long entry

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

TONIGHT IS THE RASCAL FLATTS CONCERT!  I’m SO stoked!  And we got “real” tickets, meaning we’re sitting in chairs instead of the lawn…woohoo.

So last night was exciting.  Alex calls us at like 10:15 from work and his manager gets on the phone with mom.  Yeah, he cut his finger badly, so we took him to the ER and they stitched him up nicely and quickly…which was good cause we were tired.  That brother of mine…he must have like an ER visit quota he has to fill before  his life is over.  And by the way, like half of the top of his finger is missing.  If you see my brother in the near future, do not, i repeat DO NOT give him a sharp utensil!!!

LOVE!

edit: How could I forget?  CONGRATULATIONS TIM AND RANDI!  I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Hey all,
Today is my last full day at the wonderful Lake…although I have a suspicion that I’ll be back before I leave for school ;) I can’t believe summer is almost over. There were so many more things I wanted to do!!!

I’m halfway through Chapter 9 for college chem and all the quizzes (including Chapter 10) plus all the labs are due by tomorrow…hmmm! I’m sure I can do this! I probably should be working on that now instead of getting my xanga on…oh well.

So at the main house we ran out of propane…that means no hot water…no washing dishes/warm showers/laundry/no stove…hmmmm! And we can’t figure out the water heater at the other house so no showers without freezing!

I think I’m going to the Rascal Flatts concert with Kellykins on Thursday, which should be really fun! I can’t wait to see that girl.

Okay sorry for all the mundane-ness!

Hey all,
Well FINALLY after two very overcast days, there is sunshine at the Lake! Unfortunately I won’t be doing much except read my chem book and do “at-home” experiments!
Mom and I went shopping yesterday at the outlet mall to try to find Oma and Opa birthday presents. We semi-succeeded. I think the real mission was for me to get out of the house and away from chemistry…it’s driving me insane. I have less than a week to finish 4 chapters and like 11 more experiments. And like 5 of mom’s old soriority sisters are coming down..which i’m definitely looking forward to, but am not sure how much work I’ll get done.
I keep thinking about school coming up this year. I’m so excited (I had a dream about our apartment!) but SO not ready for college to be over. How did this happen and why is it causing me such anxiety?? AHHHHH

Yesterday our family got some bad news; my Aunt Pat, who, up to this point, was a back-up kidney donor for my mom, has been diagnosed with PKD. Her kidneys and liver are still functioning pretty well at this point, so that’s good news. I hope and pray that she has no difficulties with this disease for the rest of her life. I’m upset because this disease has now captured more people I know and love. There is now a 50% chance that either of her children have it and maybe her precious grandson, Dylan. I HATE THIS. I hate this ripple effect that I imagine…that now my other aunt and uncle have a more probably chance of having the disease and for certain either my grandmother or grandfather have it.
My Aunt Pat was okay with the news, except she’s disappointed that she cannot give a kidney to my mom now. So our hopes are now resting on a non-living donor.

Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers!

God bless organ donors!

You Are Strawberry Ice Cream
A bit shy and sensitive, you are sweet to the core.
You often find yourself on the outside looking in.
Insightful and pensive, you really understand how the world works.
You are most compatible with chocolate chip ice cream.

I’d just like to point out that i’m MOST compatible with CHOCOLATE CHIP and someone who I love very dearly is chocolate chip…coincidence? i think NOT

You are dependable, popular, and observant.
Deep and thoughtful, you are prone to moodiness.
In fact, your emotions tend to influence everything you do.

You are unique, creative, and expressive.
You don’t mind waving your freak flag every once and a while.
And lucky for you, most people find your weird ways charming!

What the heck is a “freak flag”??

“On the other hand, you have different fingers.” Jack Handey

So now it’s just mom, dad, baba, grandpa jack and ME here at the Lake. I miss everyone!!! So I just finished Chapter 3 for college chem. (ahem; I should have finished chapter 6 on Monday), and I got a 95% on the quiz…wahoooo.

I did ab workouts with grace last night and let me just say I have a newfound respect for that girl, even if she does say some weird things while you’re trying to play trivial pursuit 90s edition, and when I say “weird” I really mean “stupid”…at least she can laugh at herself, cause we sure did!

I like being around family, especially when you look around and everyone is laughing so hard they can’t breathe (see above). Note to self: do not bring up the movie “Boogie Nights” in front of the family, it will only go downhill from there!

Okay well I’m off to start Chapter 4 of my class. Good news, I’m over halfway done with War & Peace. And I’m officially addicted to the Traveling Pants series…I’m beginning to think I’m a middle schooler in a 21-year-old’s body!

LOVE!
