I think I am more apt to post when I am at home…I wonder why that is.  I also wonder why I am still up at 1:59 A.M.  I’ve found a new hobby, I think this one is going to be really healthy for me…I’m pumped.

So like the INSANE person I am, I went shopping today.  The first time EVER that I’ve gone out the day AFTER Thanksgiving.  Usually we go to the Lake to rake leaves and winterize the cabin, but no.  Actally shopping wasn’t that bad.  Mom and I picked up my lil cousin, Grace and we all had a blast.  I love that girl, she’s so dang funny, we had good times at the Lake this past summer.

So I’m the worst sister EVER!  I try to cheer Alex up, because he’s being separated from his first love, food.  You think I’m kidding, but NO…ask to see a picture of him as a baby and you will understand.  So anyhoo…I try to be funny to lift his spirits, but then all goes awry because it hurts him to laugh.  Well anyhoo, mom, Kaitlyn and I got to laughing and couldn’t stop, so Alex had to leave the room, because he was laughing too.  Meanwhile I had been hiding my face in an attempt to mitigate the endless laughing.  I thought, “If Alex doesn’t see me laugh, then surely he won’t think I’m laughin (despite the SOUND of me giggling)”…yeah didn’t so much work…oh well.  I look forward to the day where laughing does not give my brother pain.  BTW he’s lost 10 pounds already…NO MORE!  please pray!

Okay, truthfully I just came downstairs to find my book and get a glass of water…bed is calling my name!

So guess what wonderful sight i woke up to this morning???  A WINTER WONDERLAND.  That’s right, it snowed 6 inches last night.  It’s weird, because it’s the day before Thanksgiving and I could have sworn that a week ago in Siloam Springs it was like 70 degrees.  CRAZY!  I love it though…since I’m not expecting a “white christmas”.

So, in Intro to Poli Thought Monday night, JB III showed us slides from a trip to China that he took.  Now China has never been on my list of “must visit” places.  I was too busy dreaming of Europe and all its splendor than of Asia.  Well, after I saw all the architecture and the photos of those precious Asian babies I decided I want to SEE EVERYTHING IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!  Especially everything beautiful and everything that pertains to the history of the world.  So this is one of my new life goals and I fully intend on seeing it through!  I’m so excited about this one.

In other news, Alex is doing well.  You know when people push their cheeks together and make their lips pout out, and mutter things like “i want more cake” or “my name’s chubby” etc.?  well this is the everyday reality of Alex now.  hehe  No, but I’m loving playing nurse ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Okay, so yall weren’t such a big fan of reading about what type of girl I am! I don’t have time to write much…molec. cell exam tomorrow. What keeps me going is thinking about how I’m going home the day after tomorrow!

Please pray for my brother as he is having extensive jaw surgery tomorrow morning at 5 AM and will have his jaw wired shut for 6 weeks.

because i didn’t include this when i posted the results of my quiz, here they are, enjoy!

I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor. Rich is better.
— Sophie Tucker

If her last name is a household word, like Disney or Kellogg, chances are she’s an Uptown Girl with a trust fund the size of Texas. But it isn’t wealth that defines the Uptown Girl, it’s breeding and decorum (unless she’s a Party/Uptown hybrid like those Wild On royals or the aristobrat child of a celebrity). A true Uptown Girl has Park Avenue taste and the manners of Emily Post, at least when Mummy is watching.

The Uptown Girl is a challenge — one that requires a little more, well, money. Menus in this chapter are going to cost you more than the others because you will need a few premium ingredients to get this Girl’s attention (read: oysters, caviar, and very expensive Champagne). If this is really the type of girl that you are after, you’re probably used to this already. If you don’t have the budget to support her tastes, we would suggest becoming a musician. Seems like those guys can always get women to buy them groceries.

She Might Be an Uptown Girl if:
She drives: a Jaguar, a Porsche, or a Rolls-Royce, or a limo with a driver and tinted, bulletproof windows.
She can talk for more than ten minutes about: being a debutante.
She begins her sentences with: “When we were on Martha’s Vineyard…”
She’d never: fly coach.
She owns any of the following: an exotic toy breed dog, Waterford crystal, anything from Tiffany’s, real pearls.

I come from a home where gravy is a beverage.
– Erma Bombeck

The Girl Next Door is from a small town, a large family, or both. She still has a healthy dose of what people ’round these parts call “family values.” She calls her grandparents every Sunday and she’s got her mom on speed dial. The Girl Next Door likes an uncomplicated life filled with the simple pleasures of family, home, kids, and food. She may not actually live on a farm, but she tends to keep a menagerie. Asked to choose between a dog and a cat, she generally won’t. What’s a good guard dog without a mouser to keep it company? She is caring and warm, welcoming and friendly. Anybody in your office ever bring in chocolate chip cookies? You got yourself a Girl Next Door.

The defining characteristics of the Girl Next Door are simplicity and tradition. Simplicity means that, unlike the Academic Girl, she’s really not that interested in the great questions that keep philosophers up at night. When she can sit in the kitchen, drinking coffee, eating shortbread cookies with a friend, and listening to the cat purr on top of the radiator, what else is there to life? What else, indeed.

She Might Be a Girl Next Door if:
She drives: a good, solid American car — a Ford Taurus, Chevy Cavalier, or Dodge Stratus.
She can talk for more than ten minutes about: her family’s holiday traditions.
She begins her sentences with: “my mother says…”
She’d never: go to a rave.
She owns any of the following: scrapbooks, heirloom quilts, a Bible, family recipes, her grandmother’s engagement ring.

I think I’m more “girl next door” than “uptown girl”…what do you think????

Though I don’t really have MUCH time to update, I will, since someone can’t live without me, or at least I think to think she can’t . Life is good. I started my “new” field experience today, and it was REALLY good. I was a little nervous to be starting all over with a new doctor, a MAN no less, but God was totally in on this. First of all, I’m pretty sure the doctor is a Christian and he really let me in on a lot. I learned a lot in 3 hours, so I feel content.

Life doesn’t seem too crazy at the moment, but I have a feeling it’s heading that way, just with my Intro to Poli thought and presentation and my Molec. Cell Lab presentation, etc…yuck.

I’m excited because I’ll get at least 8.5 hours of sleep tonight…wahoo!

Oh and btw, my insight for this entry is that cheap shoes aren’t comfortable. Ask my heels…they KNOW!

LOVE!

ps i heart momma because she tapes Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill for me!!!

I’m posting again, even though no one has commented me in a while!
Life is good, as usual. I’m getting over a nasty cold, the shower went well, and all tests for the week are over. I think I’m gonna go home this weekend, wahoo. I’ve been homesick lately, so this will be good. Mom promised me lots of mashed potatoes, she knows me well. I’m really craving chocolate chip pancakes at the moment…hmmm.

Among other good things, some relationships that I’ve wanted to improve, have indeed been improving. I’m so excited that I talk to my Pookie at least once a week on the phone now. I’m also glad that my dad and I are getting closer, I love that guy so much.

Holly, I love you so much. I have to see you more often. What an amazing relationship has bloomed out of a somewhat strange connection! I’m so thankful for you! You knock my socks off.

LOVE!

ps can’t decide if i like this album yet…guess we’ll see

Okay, okay, so I’ve been a little jumpy lately, especially since i heard the SCARIEST story of my life today after lunch. I really thought it was true, but I just found out it was an urban legend. I HATE clowns! If you are curious as to what this story is, see Rebecca’s xanga; www.xanga.com/muddibuddi
but anyhoo…after our “personal mission statement” meeting, scar, reb and i were walking across the lil bridge by the science building, MINDING our own business, just chatting away, when a SQUIRREL runs towards me FULL speed. Luckily he didn’t come at me, but rather ran behind me and up another tree. Needless to say, I WAS FREAKED OUT!!! It scared me silly. WHEW!

Some girls from the hall played twister…SOOO funny!

I’m so glad Holly is in town, that girls’ enthusiasm is CONTAGIOUS! love you girl!

Oh and P.S. CJ got her pics back from our ilead trip…will try to post soon…they’re SOOO funny!
